Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Recreation Therapist Ministry: Trinity Health PACE LIFE St Joseph of the Pines Position Purpose: Trinity Health PACE is seeking a compassionate and experienced Recreation Therapist to design, implement, and oversee therapeutic recreational activities for participants, including those with Alzheimer's and related dementias. You will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants while supporting and guiding the recreation team. What You Will Do: Develop and execute individualized and group recreational therapy programs to address cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs. Lead and mentor recreation assistants and staff, ensuring high standards of care and program delivery. Manage departmental budgets, procure necessary equipment, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and TH PACE standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive participant assessments and program adjustments. Oversee dementia-specific programming and ensure a supportive environment for participants and staff. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field, or NCCAP Activity Professionals Certification. At least 2 years of experience in therapeutic recreation, with a focus on geriatric populations. Knowledge of North Carolina state requirements for medical fitness for duty. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
