Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer Location: Manassas, Virginia Type: Contract Job #77420 Our DOD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer position that just opened in Manassas, VA . In this role you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of components for the next generation of submarine Electronic Warfare systems. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar plus 10+ years of relevant experience. Must have prior Electrical Engineering experience in RF System Design. You must also be a US Citizen. Location : Manassas, VA Position : Senior Principal Electrical Engineer Contract : 12-24 months with possibility of going direct/permanent Pay: $90.34/hour Telecommute: Hybrid Overview: We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong Systems Engineering background. You will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the design and development of components for the next generation of submarine Electronic Warfare systems. You will directly contribute to the technical success of our programs through hands-on technical contributions and through helping to develop others as technical contributors. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: RF system design, development, and testing Electrical schematic capture and PCB design Digital and/or embedded electronics Hands on electronics design, prototyping and test Working with teams across multiple disciplines (HW/SW/Systems) Ability to lead, mentor and motivate technical staff Comfortable with customer interaction during testing and review Duties and Tasks: Design, analyze and test RF, analog and digital electronic circuits. Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware. Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications. Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions. Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer. Generate design and interface documentation Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases. Develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Performs technical activities which impact the proposal, system level design, detail design and manufacture of advanced electronic warfare systems. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Leads development of strategic tasks or small projects by applying engineering and organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals and objectives. Understands and interprets the technical, organizational and process aspects of the task assigned and can relate them to the technical needs of the overall large project. Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of job-related experience. Must have prior Electrical Engineering experience in RF System Design Proficiency in all phases of PCB design including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc. Strong documentation and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects. Experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles. Advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics. Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical staff. Experience with MATLAB programming a plus. Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others. Motivated to drive innovation in design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design. Experienced in technical project management. Effectively communicates technical and programmatic matters to senior level management, program offices, and internal/external stakeholders. Has respect of peers and colleagues for technical credibility.
