Position Summary : The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist is responsible for the supervision of pharmacy technology applications at all related facilities. These will include, but not limited to, the monitoring of the core EMR system (EPIC) and does not include EMR build. Thorough knowledge of EPIC reporting including ability to run Slicer/Dicer reports is required, as well as ability to create and manipulate excel pivot tables. Additional responsibilities will include oversight of Automated Dispensing System (Pyxis), Smart Infusion pump libraries (Alaris), 340b split billing software (MacroHelix), diversion software (Protenus), and vaccine reporting (SIMON - Statewide Immunization Online Network). The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist will serve as the lead for the organization for Pyxis and Alaris oversight and will facilitate interdisciplinary meetings to get feedback for optimization and end user support feedback. Areas of support include, but are not limited to, pharmacy informatics operations support; policy and procedure development as needed; software customization; upgrade planning, implementation and testing; database management and mining; training; and development, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of interfaces between other clinical information systems. This position serves as a resource and communication liaison between clinicians, Information Systems, departmental leadership, Quality, and Patient Safety to clarify needs, design workflow, execute change and facilitate adaptation. QUALIFICATIONS Experience : Minimum of 5 years hospital experience Hospital Pharmacy Management experience preferred. Additional business and or clinical experience or background preferred. Education : Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. Licenses/Certifications : NA Knowledge/Skills : Thorough knowledge of and experience with Pharmacy EHR applications and software, including but not limited to smart pump infusion software, diversion software, ADS platforms, split-billing software systems for 340B compliance, and SIMON (Statewide Immunization Online Network). Knowledge of healthcare financial management and Pharmacy integration with Charge Master is required. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work effectively and independently managing tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manipulate and understand complex information. Effective organizational and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
