Reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure, this position plays a key role in shaping and executing Andrews Federal's Microsoft strategy and acts as the global administrator and subject matter expert for all Microsoft 365-related matters. The Sr. Systems Engineer will also manage and mentor a Systems Engineer, ensuring the effective delivery of IT services and infrastructure support. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Essential Duties Lead the analysis, redesign, and enhancement of Active Directory architecture and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to improve system efficiency and performance. Implement and manage the Intune management platform for enterprise workstations, ensuring consistency and security across the organization. Work closely with the Security Team to establish and enforce Center for Internet Security (CIS) baselines and rigorous operating system hardening standards. Spearhead the replacement of existing disparate products with Microsoft equivalents, streamlining operations and reducing complexity. Manage Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365 applications alongside on-premise Windows Active Directory to ensure a cohesive and secure hybrid environment. Oversee operational activities, including system upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and performance analysis, to ensure the infrastructure remains robust and scalable. Serve as the global administrator and subject matter expert for all Microsoft 365-related matters, driving seamless operation and alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and maintain a robust library of PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing efficiency and reducing the potential for human error. Partner with the Application Team to create automation scripts that streamline common tasks and improve system reliability. Implement and configure Microsoft 365 and other cloud applications, ensuring seamless integration with on-premise systems and consistent user experience. Participate actively in audit remediation processes to maintain compliance and minimize vulnerabilities. Collaborate closely with the Director of Infrastructure and CIO to shape and execute the Andrews Federal's Microsoft strategy, aligning IT initiatives with business goals. Educate and demonstrate the potential of Microsoft 365 and related technologies to users and managers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Develop and document standardized procedures, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices. Adhere to Andrews Federal Credit Union's policies, procedures, and regulations, including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Participate in an on-call rotation as scheduled by the Infrastructure Director, ensuring 24/7 availability to address critical issues as they arise. Qualifications Required KSAs Ability to perform duties accurately and independently, demonstrating strong task prioritization and deadline management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong commitment to safeguarding sensitive data, with a high degree of professionalism and discretion. Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, information systems, or a related field. Extensive on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 7-10 years of hands-on IT engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years of solid experience in Microsoft 365 support, administration, and implementation. Extensive experience with Active Directory, including AD forest migration, remediation, and consolidation, and other directory service technologies like GPO, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with enterprise systems application deployment and management, particularly in a Microsoft-centric environment. Strong foundation in PowerShell, with the ability to write and implement complex scripts for automation. Knowledge of Authentication, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Conditional Access Policies. Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016 and above, as well as configuration management software deployments (e.g., Intune). Desirable certifications: Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
