Product Engineer

Product Engineer - Assaria, KS Kverneland Group Hay Tools Engineer As a Product Engineer at the Kubota companies, Great Plains Manufacturing Inc. and Kverneland Group you will provide technical leadership in developing agricultural equipment. This position will be part of the Kverneland Group Hay Tool Engineering Team, supporting the local development projects as well as Kverneland products being imported into North America from Denmark, Germany and Italy. As a progressive agricultural manufacturer in Central Kansas, we are searching for talented engineers to bring innovation to agriculture globally. Our team is internationally oriented and works cross-functionally within the Kverneland Group and Kubota organization. This position works Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. from the Great Plains Mfg R&D Center in Assaria, KS. Occasional travel both domestically and internationally is required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Design harvesting and hay tool equipment in conjunction with the European R&D's Manage all aspects of design projects including concept, prototyping, testing and design for manufacturability. Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated, welded and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design. Utilize analysis software, evaluate field testing and recommend design modifications to optimize product designs and features. Present design concepts, features, opportunities and challenges to the management team. Create detailed drawings, bill of materials, test plans, etc. Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering; or three or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3D/2D CAD and FEA skills as well as Microsoft Office. Good understanding of hydraulic systems and knowledge about farming practices and equipment. Understanding of manufacturing methods and ability work in a fast-paced environment within a diverse international group. Excellent communicator who performs well solving problems and working in a team environment. Willing and available to travel both throughout the United States and internationally as required.
