Mission or Goal of Unit: Children's Hospital ofRichmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System has committeditself to transforming the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicineinto a model academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching,and clinical, translational, and basic research. Chief Purpose of this position: The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary and SleepMedicine at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU is seeking an individualinterested in a part time position and contribute to Pediatric Pulmonology's programsuccess. Candidates should be eager to join and augment a superior academicpulmonary and sleep division that provides clinical coverage within a PediatricMedical Center that has recently experienced significant dynamic growth withina new inpatient hospital which opened in April of 2023. Position Responsibilities: Clinical: Faculty member will maintain a practice inPediatric Pulmonology, both in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Will work weekends. Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilitiesin the area of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Faculty member willprovide teaching and mentorship to Medical Students, Residents, and Fellows. Research: Research aspirations areencouraged but not required; support for these activities will depend uponprior accomplishments and potential. Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental orSchool of Medicine committees when appropriate, as well in a professionalcapacity in their field, e.g.: reviewer, conference organizer, etc. Required Qualifications: Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology Training in Pediatric Pulmonology Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21 Experience with education of house staff, medical students, and others Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
