About the job OB/GYN Physician Nashville, TN Position Summary: The OBGYN Physician will provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to an ethnically and socially diverse, female patient population in accordance with the values, beliefs and policies of Nashville General Hospital. The successful candidate will also perform routine Obstetric and Gynecological office procedures and follow up all abnormal pap smears. Responsibilities: Provides primary care services to Clinic patients including: Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results. Conducting physical examinations. Order and interpret the results of laboratory, x-ray and other tests. Perform routine office based obstetric and gynecological procedures including, colposcopy and endometrial biopsies, etc. Determine and implement appropriate courses of treatment. Provide treatment plans and prescribe medications for issues/diseases of the female. organs. Provide care and treatment during prenatal and postnatal periods. Monitor results of treatment; changing as necessary. Maintain accurate, complete records that comply with contracts and/or Nashville General Hospital policies Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease. prevention. May include overseeing and training Meharry Ob/Gyn residents upon request regarding. care and treatment of patients and assists/mentors them in management of illness. serves as a resource to resolve patient/family concerns. Monitor and ensures compliance with clinical evidence-based guidelines for adult and pediatric health care Having the ability to develop positive rapport with patients and families to foster the physician/patient relationship Perform related surgical duties as required. Advise patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Refer patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Qualifications/Requirements: Medical Degree or D.O. from an AOA/ACGME accredited medical school. Completed an associated Approved AOA/ACGME Residency. Minimum 2 years of experience. Experience with Robotic Surgery preferred. ER call is flexible with at least 8 call days/month. Abilities and Skills: Excellent oral and written communication. Impeccable follow up skills. Ability to problem solve independently. Must have calm temperament and capable of dealing with a wide range of patient types. Ability to collaborate and work with a team. Excellent organizational skills Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to learn new things quickly. Desire to learn and grown with the Obstetrics service and actively participate in all trainings. Spanish a plus
