About the Role Reporting to the Manager Electrical Engineering, this role is responsible for the development and design of new HV/LV electrical assets, and to ensure those electrical assets are fit for purpose at both the Inner and Outer Harbours. This includes technical assurance for all assets and systems, ensuring they are safe to operate and maintain and comply with statutory requirements and national standards. Key duties include: Provide technical advice and strategic support to the Assets and Services leadership team Develop, maintain and improve electrical engineering processes and electrical asset specifications Manage electrical engineering consultants engaged for studies, designs and investigations Review and evaluate the results of condition inspections to ensure adequacy (fit for purpose) and safety for their intended use Prepare technical reports, cost estimates and work schedules, specifications and the technical component of tender documents Ensure records on each project are compiled and retained, including feasibility assessments, justification, execution, project summary and review of performance Selection Criteria Degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 10 years' experience in the design and asset management of electrical assets Strong experience in analysing existing and/or proposed HV/LV electrical assets to evaluate effectiveness and provide recommendation Detailed understanding of electrical systems used to control/monitor heavy machinery used in the loading and unloading of ships Experience in the design and maintenance of electrical equipment used in Hazardous Areas Detailed knowledge of statutory requirements, mine site regulations and national standards associated with design, approval and development of HV/LV electrical assets About UsFremantle Ports is a government trading enterprise with proven commercial success and a highly regarded reputation with its partners, the community, and other stakeholders.
