We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Night Shift Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The Medical Lab Scientist's salary starts at $24.74/hour! Automated testing lab including the following departments: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Specimen Processing departments. This position will support the ATL as well as Microbiology, which will include planting, gram staining, Covid analysis, kit testing to name a few. Interact courteously and professionally with laboratory customers. Respond promptly to telephone inquiries. Follow established procedures for specimen collection and processing. Perform accurate qualitative and quantitative analytical procedures. Recognize critical test results and take appropriate action. Maintain equipment, perform quality control checks, and manage supplies. Stay knowledgeable about techniques and principles. Assist with test development and evaluation. Perform High Complexity Testing without direct supervision Assume temporary first-line supervision as needed. Train new employees, students, and residents. MLS: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of a CAHEA accredited Medical Lab Scientist program, OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP or equivalent categorical or MLT certification, OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory. Prefer 1 year experience in a hospital laboratory. Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred. MLT: Associate's degree in a laboratory science with certification (or eligible new graduate) from an accredited institution as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), OR Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, OR equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA '88 for individuals performing high complexity testing. Minimum 1year's experience in a hospital laboratory preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory information systems preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred. New York License required for NY locations.
