Join our team today and immerse yourself in a rewarding career for years to come!As an Addictions RN, you will work with Adults with Co-occurring Mental Illness and substance use disorders, including Ambulatory Withdraw Management (AWM) program, as well as licensed ambulatory mental health and addiction treatment programs in Mercer County, NJSchedule:Monday-Friday: varied shifts according to program needs with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break; some on call responsibilities and weekends as neededCompetencies:Takes on responsibilities and insures that others do as well; acts with good judgment and sound thinking; work is ethical, reliable, productive and effective. Is consistent, dependable and trustworthy; attendance and punctuality meet requirements of the position.Responsibilities:Provides direct supervision to per diem staff in AWM to schedule and ensure 7 day a week coverage;Providing administrative oversight of the facility's nursing services in absence of the DON, and where appropriate, directly supervise the facility's nursing staff;Assisting the DON in the development and maintenance of written objectives, policies and procedures, and quality assurance program for nursing services;Attends supervisory sessions internally and externally;Participating in staff orientation and staff education activities, when applicable; andParticipating in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team;Serve on agency-wide or program specific committees to streamline consumer services and service provision;Provides daily medication administration of medications, observation, and assessment of individuals receiving ASAM Level 1 Ambulatory Detox services for Opiates, Alcohol and Benzodiazepines;Administers protocol for detox as directed by psychiatrist or prescriber;Coordinates with the prescriber to discuss client reaction and response;Receives verbal orders from APN or Psychiatrist;Monitors vital signs and withdrawal symptoms using COWS and CIWA scales;Completes initial evaluations and facilitates admission into the detox program;Ensures clients are appropriately scheduled with the APN or Psychiatrist as well as for primary healthcare appointments;Coordinates with counselors, peers, and case managers to ensure clients are receiving necessary services during and post detox;Maintaining daily count of controlled substances and other medications used for detox and maintenance;Understands target populations and specialized needs;Assists prescribers with various aspects of medication education and management, including facilitation of groups;Collects Urine Drug Samples and coordinates with lab company for pickup and analysis;Helps consumers' access primary and specialty care, promoting health/lifestyle changes, and assists consumers in obtaining pharmaceutical coverage;Provides injections, reviews lab reports, contacts pharmacies on behalf of prescribers and clients;Maintains inventory of medication samples, syringes and other medical supplies according to agency policy;Completes preliminary health screenings and arranges for clients to obtain physicals and other medical care as needed;Prepares documentation thoroughly and on a timely basis in the electronic health record;Shares protected health information in compliance with HIPAA to ensure integrated treatment;Provides assistance to consumers in safely taking multiple medications for both physical and mental health disorders, avoiding polypharmacy, and managing multiple medical concerns;Provides education and support for healthy lifestyle changes, including reduced dependence on tobacco, alcohol, and other harmful substances, improved nutrition;Assists consumers and prescriber with medication pre-authorizations;Performs other related duties as assigned.Benefits:Competitive base salaryMedical and dental insuranceVision planRetirement planFlexible spending plansEXCELLENT time benefits for qualified positions!Opportunity for personal and career growth, including supervision towards professional licensure for eligible candidatesTeam-oriented environment - we practice the FISH! PhilosophyQualifications:Registered Nurse (RN) currently licensed in NJ;One (1) year of experience in a licensed substance use disorder treatment facility;Three (3) to five (5) years of nursing supervisory or nursing administration experience;Valid Driver's License required.All positions require a valid driver's license in good standing and pre-employment drug screening.
