Overview Speech Pathologist UnityPoint Health - Allen Inpatient Therapy Shift: PRN as needed The speech pathologist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, communicative, audiological, swallowing, and cognitive services, rehabilitation, and testing to inpatients and outpatients. The speech pathologist is responsible for implementing and improving quality speech and language pathology services and providing appropriate documentation and billing for such services. "¯ Responsibilities Evaluates and treats patients in need of therapeutic speech, language, audiological, communicative, swallowing, and cognitive rehabilitation testing and services and participates in and provides all necessary components of this responsibility including completion of proper evaluation, creation of a treatment plan, and completion of treatment sessions per established treatment plans Produces appropriate documentation and billing incompliance with all third-party payor and regulatory guidelines. Completes appropriate communication with all patients, caregivers, fellow staff, and referring providers/clinicians. Provides oversite and supervision of other support personnel and speech therapy students Coordinates with other staff and caregivers to provide optimal care to patient including care coordination, patient care conferences, and scheduling. Assists and advises supervisory personnel, management, and administration in development and implementation of quality speech and language pathology services, programs, policies, and procedures. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of accredited educational program in speech-language pathology Current license, in good standing, to practice speech pathology in the state of Iowa, or eligible. Possess and maintain current BLS certification per policy. Read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English Possess basic computer skills and knowledge Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years' experience preferred CCC-SLP Certificate of Clinical Competence that is granted by ASHA. Specialized knowledge, skills, experience, or abilities dependent upon specific practice area/location
