JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to executive management When needed work closely with executive management to provide data-driven insights that inform strategic decision-making Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions Aggregate, clean, and study data for key or specialized analytics projects. Collaborate with stakeholders, executive management, and department managers to maintain a cohesive organizational structure backed by data. Identify patterns and trends in large datasets to help our organization make informed decisions. Identify specific business opportunities and influence shareholders to support business projects. Works with the Data Analysis Supervisor/Manager and management to gather and translate business requirements into report specifications and then developing customized, easy-to-comprehend reports to meet those business needs. These reports include, but are not limited to: scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly reports; ad-hoc reports as fulfillment of user requests, special projects, audits, and examinations; quarterly reports necessary to complete regulatory filings and support management, committee, and board of directors meetings; and various loan reports necessary to complete the calculation of lenders quarterly commercial incentives. Manipulate and analyze data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques; Works with the CISO and teammates on various elements of a strategic, comprehensive security program, including: provides routine security reports for enterprise risk teams, security committees, executive management and the board of directors; provides data to support investigations relating to security concerns, including fraud, breaches, forensics, and suspicious activity reporting; Works with the CISO and teammates on process improvement initiatives such as: participating in the analysis of existing reports to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for cost savings or increases in efficiency; and working with business unit managers to help identify and implement reporting solutions to automate manual reporting tasks or improve existing reports. Serves as a subject matter expert for FIS reporting and data analysis for the company by assisting with the effort to develop other report writers throughout the organization by serving as a technical resource and/or providing training; Keeps abreast of trends and developments in data analysis and information security through ongoing training and professional development. Works directly with all levels of management for ad-hoc reporting that assists with decision making. Ensures all actions performed are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. Performs other dutes as assigned by management. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate for the Business Data Analyst position will possess: A Bachelors degree (or equivalent); Eight or more years of experience and high achievement in a data analysis or report writing role; Demonstrated mastery of CTBI reporting software (BusinessObjects, Report Scheduler, and Datawatch Modeler) and Microsoft Excel; Demonstrated ability to process quarterly commercial incentive program and quarterly management reporting without supervision; Competency with various types of databases and platforms and the ability to extract data and merge data for a variety of reporting needs; Competency with analyzing large volumes of data, extracting insights, processing large data sets, and building visualizations using a variety of reporting tools; The ability and willingness to understand and meet user needs from a business solutions perspective and with a service-oriented attitude; Thorough understanding of CTBI departments and functions, and the processes they use which are dependent upon information obtained from reports; Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills; Relevant data analysis and security training and certifications; and The ability and willingness to effectively explain complex data-related concepts and issues to non-technical and business audiences. The Business Data Analyst should also be: Honest and ethical, verifiable through character references; Highly organized, persistent, flexible and able to focus on long term, team-oriented goals; A quick learner with the ability to excel in a highly technical and continually changing environment; and Able to balance the needs of a large number of concurrent projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
