Job Summary We are currently looking for a Plant Engineer to join our Production Team at our IPEX Pineville Extrusion Plant. The candidate would be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of plant engineering requirements, including equipment installation, design, costing, are completed and accurate in order to meet timelines and stay within budget. Drives continuous improvement by working independently or in conjunction with engineering, production, maintenance, or vendors to analyse and develop solutions to improve processing, products and solve issues. This includes design, development or modifications of new and existing processes, equipment, tooling, materials, cost, or quality improvement projects. Principal Responsibilities Monitor and analyze maintenance related downtime in manufacturing. Lead root-cause analysis activities and determine corrective actions. Evaluates production scrap and defects related to equipment reliability. Recommend improvements to reduce scrap and improve equipment reliability. Continually audit existing equipment and processes and recommends improvements. Prepares economic analysis and comparisons to provide management with information to use in decision-making processes Coordinate with maintenance manager and production manager for optimum usage of internal resources during the completion of various engineering projects Work in conjunction with production personnel on machinery/equipment/tooling improvements that will improve reliability. Oversee product & equipment problem resolution projects as they arise MES lead (production software) at the plant by overseeing system use, ensuring data accuracy, making recommendations, and implementing new modules Partner with plant maintenance and engineering resources to identify reliability improvement projects throughout the plant. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Engineering or related degree A basic working knowledge of plastics manufacturing environment/processes is preferred Excellent knowledge MS Office and database software 2-4 years of experience in Manufacturing/Engineering environment Excellent leadership/management skills Written & verbal communication Interpersonal skills Project management skills. Travel may be required
