Come join our Wellmore Family as a Shift Monitor at our Morris Recovery House and Therapeutic Shelter Program for Men in Waterbury. Morris House provides temporary housing for adult men in Drug/Alcohol recovery with addiction and/or co-occurring mental health disorders in a non-clinical setting. The Therapeutic Shelter Program provides short-term housing for Adult Men seeking recovery and intensive Drug/Alcohol treatment. In-patient treatment work experience is preferred for staff in this house. As a member of the treatment team, the Shift Monitor is responsible for the well-being and safety of the clients while assisting with and supervising client activities. As a Shift Monitor, this individual will remain awake on all designated shifts. Shifts available: Per Diem - must have a flexible schedule and availability to cover the 2nd or 3rd shift hours Full and Part-time: 2nd Shift - full time: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (midnight), any day of the week, along with the flexibility to work later shifts such as 5:00 PM - 1:00 AM or 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM. 3rd shift: part-time regular;12:00 AM to 8:00 AM Saturday or Sunday, or Full time 5 days/week on 3rd shift. Locations: Morris House - North Elm Street, Waterbury, and Therapeutic Shelter - Griggs Street, Waterbury Duties & Responsibilities: • Develops positive working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and members of the clinical team. • Develops appropriate therapeutic relationships with clients • Abides by the Code of Ethics. • Facilitates assigned educational groups and community meetings. • Supervises visiting hours. • Models appropriate professional behavior, including parenting within the program. • Collects/administers urinalysis and breathalyzer tests. • Supervises meal and snack times. Occasionally assists with the meal and snack prep. • Supervises self-administration of medication • Routine bed checks, house rounds, and documentation of client counts. • Makes clear and detailed entries in staff log and appropriate files. Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum 2 years college in counseling or related field. (Work experience in the field can be considered as a substitution.) Knowledge of the recovery process is helpful and preferred. Experience in a similar setting is desirable. Must be able to climb 4-5 flights of stairs in the homes. Good computer skills. Must be able to maintain client confidentiality. Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Must be willing to become and maintain CPR/First Aid certification - Wellmore will pay for the classes onsite. Pay rate: $15.50 per hour
