PAY SCALE: $32.50 - $36/HR DOE SUMMARY: This individual will be responsible for the efficient and timely transportation of freight loads from Bismarck, ND to various locations throughout the Midwest. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Haul loads following a strict schedule in order to maintain the timely delivery of the goods at the necessary locations. Operate vehicles in a safe, legal and responsible manner, following rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Loads and unloads heavy construction and/or aggregate equipment from truck and/or trailer at the correct locations. Conduct pre and post inspections of vehicles daily and promptly report, and schedule vehicle maintenance as needed. Maintain vehicle records, such as logbooks and fuel sheets. Keeps equipment, vehicles, and work area clean and orderly. Maintains cleanliness of equipment, inside and out to a presentable level. Completes all paperwork required for jobs, including all paperwork required by law. Must be able to understand and how to use an electronic logbook. May perform other duties as directed by the Transportation Manager. ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: At least one-year experience in hauling oversize loads required. Requires a valid Class A CDL, a clear driving record and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record; must have Double, Triple Endorsement on CDL or the ability to obtain endorsements. Must be able to operate heavy equipment. Requires successful completion of DOT physical. Maintain excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Moving experience of multiple axle combinations preferred. Must have excellent customer service skills, both internal and external customers. Must have excellent organizational skills. Attain short- and long-term objectives through good planning. Works in an efficient and effective manner. Contributes to departmental and product line goals. Must have a positive mental attitude. Driving these vehicles may include overnight stays in various locations. Must be able to travel into Canada. Regularly required to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, bend, climb stairs and ladder Must be able to withstand awkward postures of forward bending/twisting to lift goods. Tasks are performed both inside and outside and may include exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions, vapors/fumes/chemicals, and noise for extended periods of time Requires loading and unloading large or oversized equipment which may require stepping up on to trailers and securing the load while maintaining balance. Requires the ability to lift 50-75 lbs. or more on a frequent basis.
