JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer The electrical engineer position is an integral part of the engineering team that focuses on the specification, simulation, design, debug, and verification of analog and digital circuitry for audio products such as amplifiers, processors, and integration accessories. The electrical engineer works closely with other product development and engineering disciplines to deliver class-leading products. This role has a high sense of ownership in the overall product since it will involve many aspects of design and validation starting from initial concept and going beyond product launch. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with new product team and OEM customers to define product requirements. Select analog and digital components to meet product performance and cost requirements. Simulate and design analog and digital circuits including SMPS, discrete and integrated high-power amplifiers. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design mechanical interfaces and perform product level DFMEA. Collaborate with embedded engineers to design hardware for MCUs, DSPs, etc. Develop complete product schematics using Altium Designer and engage in team design reviews. Perform high power, mixed-signal PCB layout and routing using Altium Designer. Work closely with off-shore CM's to produce working product samples. Collaborate with test engineers to develop hardware validation test plans and EOL test systems. Perform board bring-up and debug to optimize HW on bench and in real-world conditions. Sustaining engineering on existing products such as root cause analysis or component obsolescence. 10% Domestic and international travel REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Minimum 3 years of job-related experience. Experience designing schematics and PCB layout using Altium Able to solder and rework fine pitch and high-power components Experience with high power switch mode power supplies (W). Working knowledge in theory of operation of analog filter, preamplifiers, and audio amplifier classes. Expertise in thermal management design and mitigation. Strong knowledge of test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMM's, spectrum analyzers, etc.). Good understanding of audio measurements such as CMRR, THD, SNR, and crosstalk. Excellent project engineering skills and knowledge of standardized engineering best practices. Working knowledge of EMC standards and design practices. Disciplined problem-solving skills and creative thinking. Strong team player with positive attitude and willingness to learn and collaborate in group settings. • DESIRED SKILLS (OPTIONAL): Prior experience with Audio Precision test equipment. Familiarity of system level integration of mobile audio components (source units, speakers, subwoofers, etc). Experience designing wireless products such as BLE and WiFi. Prior experience or desire to learn test equipment automation using LabVIEW or equivalent software. Knowledge of digital signal processing concepts. Basic understanding of firmware development.
