POSITION SUMMARY The Trainmaster directly supervises two or more employees in the Operations Department. Oversees operations and administrative functions at an individual site location including, but not limited to the safe and efficient movement of all trains at a specified property. Oversees the progress and productivity of all assigned personnel, to include prioritizing work efforts and setting performance standards; manages assignment of resources, and management of assets and processes at specified property. Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems. Executes the service plan to include: production, quality, cost containment and reassignment of resources to achieve maximum efficiency. Ensures the safety of crews and meets operational and financial targets as outlined by the service plan and associated key performance indicators that attain company objectives.
