Overview The mission of the Speech Pathology Department is to provide preventative evaluative, and therapeutic services in communication to children and their families. A Speech-Language Pathologist screens and/or evaluates speech, language, oral motor skills, swallowing, and cognition, scores and interprets tests, plans and provides therapeutic intervention, provides parent education, and communicates with outside agencies and referral sources for children on the autism spectrum.The Speech-Language Pathologist demonstrates competencies defined (*) in Speech-Language Pathologist's responsibilities in providing age-appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years, and select adult patients. **HOURS: WE ARE OPEN TO FULL TIME OR PART TIME FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY** Home base location: 255 E Main StColumbus, Ohio 43215 Why Nationwide Children's Hospital? Responsibilities *Completes Speech screens *Completes Speech Evaluation *Completes Language Evaluation *Completes Cognitive screen *Completes Cognitive Evaluation *Completes Oral Motor Assessment *Completes Dysphagia Evaluation *Completes Voice Evaluation *Completes Fluency Evaluation * Completes Auditory Processing Evaluation *Completes Hearing Screens *Complete Cochlear Implant Evaluation Scores and interprets tests Completes documentation of services *Plans individual therapy *Plans group therapy *Set measurable treatment goals *Provides individual therapy *Provides group therapy *Provides parent education Provides referral sources Communicates with outside agencies Provides instruction to Medical Residents, Medical Students, Nurses, and Speech Pathology students. Maintains Ohio Licensure Maintains ASHA Accreditation Works with team to develop autism-specific services Collaborates with outside and internal professionals to best provide autism-specialized services Qualifications Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Licensure: Valid Ohio License in Speech Pathology Certifications: Certification in Speech Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing certification must be received no later than 60 days post hire or 60 days post-expiration. Experience: Previous pediatric experience desirable.
