Auburn Veterinary Specialists in Gulf Shores, Alabama seek a Veterinary Technician to aid in the care and treatments, diagnostics, and procedures of patients within the Internal Medicine service. This service technician will also provide support to the veterinary students in charge of primary patient care and the general cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of equipment in the service area. Essential Functions Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Depending on the combination of education and experience, the selected finalist will be hired as a Veterinary Technician and assigned level I, II, or III. Level I requires an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification. Level II requires an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification plus 2 years of clinical experience working in a professional veterinary setting. Level III requires an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field that qualifies an individual to obtain certification plus 4 years of clinical experience working in a professional veterinary setting. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent. Advanced degrees may be substituted for experience. Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications Minimum Skills and Abilities Minimum Technology Skills Minimum License and Certifications Active license with the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medicine as a Veterinary Technician, OR Have met all requirements to become licensed in the State of Alabama. Licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
