JOB TITLE: Radiology Technologist SUPERVISOR: Radiology Manager HRS/WK: 40hrs (Possible floating between the Northeast and the Tigard clinic) DEPARTMENT: Radiology HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job. It does not identify all tasks that may be expected, nor address the performance standards that must be maintained. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for performing radiological studies on patients, as ordered by physicians, using proper techniques to ensure the quality of the images. Works under the direction of the Radiologist and with direct supervision of the Radiology Manager. Performs a variety of technical and aseptic procedures that requires independent judgment and initiative. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 1. Perform diagnostic x-ray procedures, including general radiography, and mobile c-arm exams. * 2. Position patient to obtain the optimal images, while also ensuring radiation protection and dose efficiency. * 3. Set up all equipment and supplies for procedures and exams. * 4. Assist patient to dress/undress, escort patient to and from exam rooms, assist patient on and off exam table, and escort or direct patients to other departments or appropriate locations. * 5. Explain and coach patient through the exam or procedure. * 6. Assure all documentation in EHR and images in PACS are correct. * 7. Assure exam is ready for Radiologist interpretation in a timely manner. * 8. Interact with radiologists and/or exercise sound technical judgment for approval of image quality or possible additional imaging. * 9. Answer telephone and inquiries regarding patient exams, procedures, and preparations for exams. * 10. Complete necessary departmental quality assurance measures both in EHR and PACS for each examination. 11. Assist with reception/radiology clerical duties as needed. 12. Clean and stock exam rooms and dressing booths on a daily basis. 13. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home. 14. Attend work regularly as scheduled. * Equipment Used: • PACS, EHR and other computer programs • Radiographic Equipment • CD Burner • Film printer REQUIREMENTS: • Graduate of accredited Radiological Technology program, consisting of a 2-4 year educational program, including an Associate of Applied Science degree. • Must be ARRT certified in Radiography and possess valid Oregon license.
