Assists the Cardiologists in formulating the final interpretation of these studies. Responsible for the daily operational activities to include processing of test results, charting, billing and filing. Maintenance of equipment and work areas. Follows Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards per department exposure control plan. 1. Performs two-dimensional echocardiography to non-invasively assess the function and pathology of the heart.2. Assists the Cardiologist in formulating a final interpretation for the studies performed.3. Maintains echocardiography files and daily logs to ensure prompt retrieval of . Contributes to the efficient and professional operation of the department.5. Conducts routine stress testing as assigned.6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.7. Performs routine electrocardiograms, rhythm strips, downloads Holter monitor data, and signal average electrocardiograms.8. Assists in delivering high quality health care services in a professional, compassionate, and courteous manner while respecting the dignity and individuality of each person who comes in contact with the organization by following the Standards of Excellence, the Standards of Behavior, and the Standards of Professional Appearance and Conduct. Maintains confidentiality of information of the department. Qualifications Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): • Graduate from a school accredited of AMA Accredited Sonography Program, OR Graduate of accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and/or equivalent clinical experience.• RDCS Certification through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography within one year of employment, OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer with CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS) within one year of employment,• BLS within 30 days of employment.• See Certification Grid for additional Facility Requirements Experience (required and preferred): • Previous experience preferred.
