Role: Sr. Linux Systems Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA - Hybrid Job Purpose The Senior Systems Engineer ensures high availability and optimal performance across mixed Linux and Windows environments, encompassing development, non-production, and production stages. As a key member of a results-driven service delivery team, this individual collaborates with configuration analysts, release engineers, developers, and operations teams. Responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis of issues, selecting and implementing automation tools, and engaging in in-depth technical discussions. Responsibilities Assist in designing, planning, and implementing server solutions Optimize and design systems infrastructure for peak performance Automate manual tasks through scripting and application development Investigate and adopt new technologies and tools as needed Provide support for production operations in a 24/7 environment Evaluate, test, and integrate new operating system versions, drivers, and patches Conduct technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions Support and coordinate with developers, operations staff, release engineers, and end-users Educate and mentor team members and operations staff Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support Knowledge and Experience 5-10+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (preferably RedHat variants) Proficient in coding with languages such as Python, Ruby, Bourne, PowerShell, and APIs Familiar with tools like git, subversion, foreman, katello, Jenkins, or similar Demonstrable knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient application design Understanding of horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and stability Familiar with low-latency/high-frequency compute environments Knowledge of virtualization and experience with VMWare Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a service-oriented team environment Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills Customer-focused and dedicated to providing the best possible user experience Effective communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering Intermediate understanding of application and server virtualization Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container platforms Experience with automation and configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar tools Proficiency in network analysis using tools like tcpdump, Wireshark, or Tshark #IT123
