Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN -ER Shift : Days / 7a-7:30p, 12x3, 36 hours per week, Every other weekend and holiday Length : 14 weeks Requirements: MD License Must have minimum 2 years of acute facility experience Must have previous Level I/II trauma experience. BCLS ACLS PAL NIH TNCC Other Details: First-time travelers ok Must have min 2 years of acute facility experience. MUST have previous Level I/II trauma experience. ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH, TNCC req prior to start First-time travelers ok This is a fast paced 77 bed Level II trauma Emergency Dept. with 13 of those beds being Peds. There are 6 trauma rooms as well as a 13 bed Rapid Evaluation Unit. Advanced EKG testing required provided by the agency through Prophecy Relias. This exam must be completed before the nurse can attend Orientation. Every other weekend and holiday. Schedule is done in 4 week blocks. Travelers work every other weekend, as well as a minimum of one Monday and one Friday in the 4 week block. The rest of the shifts are placed where our needs are the highest." ER Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment. They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse. A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient/family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge. Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
