REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - ENDOSCOPY

DEPARTMENT: ENDOSCOPY/BRONCHOSCOPY DAY SHIFT: M - F Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404-bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center . We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services. We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses for immediate full-time day shift opportunities in our Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy Department . DUTIES As an RN in our Endoscopy department, you will essentially function as a self-directed nurse, assuming responsibility for patient care and patient flow of Gastroenterology patients through the Endoscopy unit. Assuming shared responsibility for the collaborative screening of consults requesting services. Educating patients and family members in understanding pre, intra, and post-procedure activities for patients undergoing endo/ASU/bronchoscopy procedures. Accurately assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the medical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients in relation to the diagnosis, optimal treatment options, psychosocial impact, and individualized plan of care. Collaborating with primary caregivers, surgeons, Gastroenterologists, and other health team professionals to implement plan of care for the patient. Requirements Current NYS RN licensure Prior Endoscopy experience wanted, but willing to train. Certification in this area of specialty is preferred. Adept and proficient in IV Placement Current ACLS/BCLS required. Excellent Oral and written communication skills required.
