Check us out online: Work Shifts Tour 1 Job Description Performs responsible supervisory, administrative and clinical activities involving day-to-day supervision of an operating segment of the Radiology department in the delivery of radiological services, or performs specialized imaging procedures with diagnostic and interventional radiography. There are two (2) types of assignments in this Level of positions. For Specialized Imaging Assignments, performs typical tasks of Assignment Levels I and II, as listed above for special procedures with diagnostic and interventional radiography in Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Mammography; and performs additional related tasks, as applicable to this type of assignment. For Supervisory Assignments, in addition to performing duties of lower Assignment Levels at a more difficult and responsible level, performs the following: Examples of Typical Tasks: 1. Supervises the delivery of radiological services, in accordance with established standards and procedures, for the service area or unit. 2. Recommends changes and improvements relating to the delivery of radiological services. 3. Participates in the development of training programs for radiographic personnel, ancillary personnel and allied health care professionals. Demonstrates new or revised techniques, procedures and equipment. 4. May perform radiologic procedures, as required. 5. Performs special procedures including diagnostic and interventional radiography (e.g., C.T., M.R.I., and Mammography). 6. Recommends area assignment of personnel to coordinate activities within the department with other activities and services and represents the department in interdepartmental operations and meetings. 7. Participates in quality assurance activities, including coordination, control and maintenance of technical equipment. 8. Participates in and coordinates procurement and storage of supplies and makes recommendations regarding supply and equipment needs. 9. Performs research and participates in special projects involving evaluation of equipment and delivery of service. 10. May be assigned duties and responsibilities of immediate Supervisor in their absence on a temporary basis Minimum Qualifications 1. For Supervisory Assignments: a valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH; and two (2) years of Radiologic Technologist experience performing duties consistent with Assignment Levels I and II, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. 2. For Specialized Imaging Assignments: a valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH; and possession of a current advanced level certification for the performance of these procedures.
