About the Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing clinical support to healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Staff Pharmacist will work during overnight hours, contributing to the continuity of pharmacy services and maintaining high standards of patient care. Key responsibilities include: Medication Dispensing: Accurately dispense medications in accordance with prescription orders, ensuring patient safety and compliance with legal requirements. Clinical Support: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide clinical support, including drug information, therapeutic interventions, and monitoring for adverse drug reactions. Order Verification: Review and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and adherence to formulary guidelines. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of pharmacy services and compliance with regulatory requirements. Patient Education: Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any related inquiries to ensure proper understanding and adherence. Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response procedures, providing timely and accurate medication support during critical situations. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste. Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and ensure a multidisciplinary approach to care. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, prescription files, and other necessary documentation. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about new medications, treatment protocols, and industry developments through ongoing education and training. Compensation is commensurate upon education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $47.50 to $68.00/hr. Eligible for shift and PRN differential. Minimum Education PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program. Experience Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred. Required Registration/License/Certification Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability Pharmaceutical knowledge and skills Ability to accept accountability for patient outcomes Ability to prioritize patient needs above all else Ability to practice pharmacy with integrity towards coworkers and patients Ability to accept and respond constructively to feedback and criticism Ability to learn computer and application skills as applicable to role Ability to interact with and work around people Ability to make judgments in demanding situations.
