As a brand of the Sentry Insurance Group, we are the insurance specialists for the horticultural industry in America.Based on qualifications and experience, this position can be filled as a Risk Control Consultant I or a Risk Control Consultant II.The base salary range for a Risk Control Consultant I is $66,700-$91,800.The base salary range for a Risk Control Consultant II is $80,800-$111,100. What You'll DoThe ideal Risk Control Consultant will be located in the Raleigh or Greensboro, NC area and be able to conduct onsite safety and risk assessments and training to our business insurance customers. Core service states are VA, GA, NC, SC). Additional service states include (KY, TN, MD).Additionally, you'll:Conduct onsite risk evaluation surveys and complete detailed reports to assist our Underwriting groups with account acceptability.Provide risk management and consultative services to businesses by developing and implementing safety polices, programs and procedures specific to each account.Develop and demonstrate safety management expertise in areas such as commercial property protection, employee safety, product and employment liability and vehicle safety.Develop, coordinate and conduct safety/risk management training programs for accounts to promote awareness and reduce claim frequency and severity.Develop and execute service proposals and plans to large accounts.What it Takes Four-year degree within Safety Sciences is preferred or equivalent work experienceBilingual in Spanish strongly preferredExperience working in Horticulture/greenhouse farming setting (growing crops and vegetables in a greenhouse), and/or knowledge of produce food safety practices - GAP, GMP, GFSI, etc. a plusEmphasis in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or Physical Sciences preferred2-5 years of insurance safety consulting preferredKnowledge of OSHA, DOT, FSMA, and EPA pesticide regulationsHigh level of independence, organization, and self-motivation to work from homeAbility to coordinate and service large accounts with multi location operationsFamiliarity with occupational safety and fire protection standards or regulationsHigh level of verbal and written communication skillsAcceptable motor vehicle recordAbility to travel overnight up to 50% of the timeWhat You'll ReceiveAt Sentry, your total rewards go beyond competitive compensation.
