We are looking for a dedicated Lead Medical Technologist like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsUnder the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory and the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor, the Lead Medical Technologist provides clinical laboratory services and immediate supervision to assigned laboratory section in accordance with accepted practices of Departmental and Hospital standards of care, with further responsibilities including involvement in departmental inventory, validation of monthly quality control, new procedures and /or equipment.Each patient is assessed by appropriate disciplines beginning at the time the patient enters a hospital service and progressing through discharge. The person in this position demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide clinical laboratory services to patients served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.Supportive of the ethics and compliance programs forth by HCA Healthcare demonstrated by: a. Upholds code of conduct. b. Adheres to dealing appropriately and fairly with employee's misconduct. c. Enforces all ethics and compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area. d. Provides and assures ethics and compliance education as requested by the ECO and/or corporate initiative. e. Sets an example to all staff in their daily activities. Responsible for training and evaluating staff on the overall code of conduct and specific policies and procedures that affect department specific responsibilities (examples may include but not limited to PEPP, medical necessity, lab compliance, billing and coding). If an ethics and compliance issue is identified, takes appropriate action to correct and/or report any violation that he/she is aware of in the department or the facility Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department. Participates in quality control and performance improvement activities within the Department. Maintains a good understanding of the operation of all equipment in the performance of clinical laboratory testing to include troubleshooting and minor repair. Facilitates communication between the Laboratory and members of the Medical Staff and other Hospital Departments to enhance patient care services. Maintains proper monthly scheduling of section employees for coverage of current patient workload. Maintains adequate inventory of Section supplies. Responsible for procedure validation within designated section.What qualifications you will need:Must have completed the Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related Science Field or hold Medical Technologist credentials from a recognized credentialing agency.
