Position: Sr Estimator - Electrical Infrastructure Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator with extensive experience in large scale electrical infrastructure including EV Charging. This role requires a deep understanding of complex electrical systems, including AC and DC (High Power DC) EV charging, fleet electrification, and power distribution infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in AutoCAD design, proficiency with Bluebeam, Accubid, or comparable electrical estimating software. As a key member of our eMobility Development Team, you will collaborate with sales, clients, engineering, external partners and operations to develop accurate, competitive, and strategic proposals. Your ability to analyze drawings, coordinate with subcontractors, assess risks, and optimize project pricing will be instrumental in driving business growth. For information about ABM's benefits, visit Employee Benefits 2025 Staff & Management Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Proposal Development: Lead the estimation process for large, complex electrical infrastructure projects, including EV charging stations, microgrids, substations, and distribution systems. Perform job walk throughs, detailed drawing take-offs, and labor/material pricing analysis for high-value projects. Develop comprehensive proposals that align with client needs, industry standards, and company capabilities. Ensure accurate cost forecasting by thoroughly analyzing electrical project drawings and specifications. Utilize CAD software and Bluebeam for detailed project take-offs, design validation, and markup coordination. Utilize Accubid or similar electrical estimating software to generate precise and data-driven cost estimates. Coordinate and validate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure competitive bids. Project Qualification & Risk Management: Assess project scope, risks, and feasibility to determine the best approach for execution. Evaluate project logistics, constructability, and resource requirements to improve bid accuracy. Collaborate with leadership to ensure bid opportunities align with company priorities and resource capacity. Implement strategies to reduce risk and improve margin performance on complex projects. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the sales team, engineering, project management, and executive leadership to review and refine estimates. Engage with clients and stakeholders to present and justify estimates, answer technical questions, and drive project closures. Maintain and update a historical cost database for accurate benchmarking and future bid development. Support internal teams by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and innovative estimating techniques. Process Improvement & Technology Integration: Leverage Bluebeam and CAD tools to improve take-off accuracy, collaboration, and documentation. Utilize Salesforce and estimating software to manage bid pipelines and ensure data integrity. Continuously seek out efficiencies and automation to improve the estimating workflow and reduce turnaround times. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in electrical estimating with a focus on large-scale electrical infrastructure including EV charging. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and present to clients. Ability to interpret and analyze electrical, civil, and structural drawings for complex projects. Expertise in CAD design (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and Bluebeam Revu for drawing review, markup, and take-offs. Experience with electrical systems, power distribution, and complex site electrical designs. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based project management platforms. Experience managing multi-million-dollar bids and navigating competitive proposal processes. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for site evaluations, pre-bid meetings, and client engagements. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with Accubid or similar electrical estimating software for cost estimation and bid management. Experience working with design-build contracts, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, and utility-scale electrical systems. Knowledge of battery energy storage systems (BESS), distributed energy resources (DER), and microgrid applications. Familiarity with public sector and private sector procurement processes, including RFPs and government-funded infrastructure projects. Advanced proficiency with Salesforce, SmartSheets, and digital collaboration tools for tracking and managing bid progress. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Electrical Estimating Professional (EEP), or PMP are a plus. Why Join ABM?
