Sprinkler Inspector

This position will require daily driving between Tri Cities, WA and Pasco, WA and Hermiston, OR. Company vehicle is providedWhat you will doInspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers' product lines.How you will do itResponsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspectionsAccurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspectionProfessionally represent the company at all timesComplete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices, such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopyFollow and maintain a highly structured inspection scheduleMake minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.Complete assigned inspections on timePerform other duties as directedCarry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical laborAssist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systemsPerform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipmentBe enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship StandardsHave a positive attitude and the ability to learn quicklyWhat we look forRequiredMinimum of 3 years' experience with installation or Service Experience in testing and inspecting Fire Sprinklers.Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.Willing to travel out of town.Demonstrate a high level of customer service.Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.High School Diploma or EquivalentPreferredNICET II certificationHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20-$28.
