It is the foundation of The Memorial Experience.Summary:The Child Life Manager has overall responsibility and accountability to manage the Child Life, Creative Arts and the Power of Play programs. Provides leadership to all staff in the Child Life, Creative Arts and the Power of Play departments. Oversees day-to-day operations and works towards quality improvement and productivity measures, and supports a cohesive team environment.Responsibilities:Evaluates staff needs, departments' needs, and overall contributions to the organization. Advocates for the needs of the departments, patients and families, and the organization.Develops and continually updates policies and procedures.Oversees all levels of child life student programming.Optimizes resources to minimize expenses and maximize productivity.Attends and encourages team attendance in conferences to keep current in the child life field and leadership/management practices.Accountable for establishing a work unit culture promoting service, safety, and quality.Proactively manages the departments' staffing to assure patient and family needs are met (volume and acuity demands).Reports to and collaborates with management in evaluating and improving quality services provided to patients and families. This incumbent must be able to work with community partners, be innovative and comfortable with public speaking.Required Work Experience: Three (3) years' experience as a Child Life Manager/Leader or Child life Specialist with leadership responsibilities.Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Child and Family Studies, or a closely related field.
