The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic oversight to the Corporate Engagement Center, aligning its mission with the company's strategic plan, and serving as the primary representative for corporate engagement. This role involves identifying and engaging with top industry partners, enhancing the company's presence in the corporate sector, and ensuring that partnerships are mutually beneficial. The AVP will also be tasked with streamlining the corporate engagement process, providing education and training to the university community, and championing the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates for the Associate Vice President position should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in corporate relations, with a preference for those who have worked in a complex academic environment or as a university relations liaison in a large corporate setting. A deep understanding of the academic and research missions of a public institution, as well as a strong commitment to the values of education, scholarship, and economic development, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or a master's degree, exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
