The CFO will be responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of the financial and administrative operations of the institutionally affiliated foundations. This includes leading a team of professionals, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures, managing critical financial systems, and ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements. The CFO will also be involved in overseeing the management of the foundations' assets, including the investment portfolio, and will serve as a key advisor on financial matters. Candidates for the CFO position should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a preference for a Master's degree, and at least 8-10 years of progressive management experience in a senior financial role, preferably in a university foundation or higher education setting. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of financial planning, tax issues related to not-for-profit organizations, and experience with GAAP. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well under pressure and deliver results.
