Dealership Controller

A rapidly expanding franchise automotive dealership, processing an average of 50-100 vehicle sales per month, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Dealership Controller and financial expert. This role will oversee the financial operations of the dealership and help us sustain our rapid growth and market conditions.The ideal candidate has experience as a dealership controller and/or CFO and wants to support the company through his growth and get financials controls in line, raise capital and advise ownership on strategic financial aspects of the business.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for the dealership.Provide monthly statements by the 5th of each month.Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements, implementing financial controls and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to drive business performance.Take an active role in the daily operations to ensure financial compliance and proper business structure.Handle New and Used Retail Car Deals including posting deals and submitting service & warranty contracts.Manage Wholesale Sales & Used Car Purchases, including recording vehicle sales, processing lien payoffs, and ensuring accurate documentation.Supervise Dealership AP/AR processes including cash receipts, vendor invoices, AR collections, and other related functions.Perform General Dealership Accounting tasks such as FTC, RDR, rebate & bank reconciliations, schedule reviews, and maintenance.Ensure accurate DMS setup and ongoing maintenance to guarantee accurate data and reporting.Deliver timely and accurate financial statements, weekly reporting on dealership operations.Manage cash flow and projections, ensuring effective cash management for the dealership.Complete dealership applications accurately and timely, giving the best chances for approval.Manage dealership floorplan.Provide cash flow statements and projections.Qualifications:CPA certification or equivalent experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive dealership accounting, with a thorough understanding of dealership accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in CDK or Dealertrack DMS, QuickBooks, Excel, and Financial accounting softwares.Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to manage financial operations across multiple locations.A critical thinker with exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.Additional Information:Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PMWe are an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
