Hygiene and toileting support may be required.General classroom supports: providers who are assigned to work with a single teacher or classroom. In this role, providers will support wherever they are needed most by the teacher. Typically every day looks different in this position, and you may be working with several different students throughout your day.Calm, clear, and concise communication with both children and adultsAbility to run and stand, walk, and sit for long periods of timePotential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds)Potential toileting and/or wheelchair assistanceQualifications: EducationH.S. Diploma or equivalentHave obtained an associate (or higher) degree, orHave at least two years of post-secondary education equaling a minimum of 48 credit hours from an accredited higher education institution, orHave met a rigorous standard on one of the formal Massachusetts-endorsed Assessments: Parapro or WorkKeysBasic Knowledge of Autism and Special NeedsUnderstanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other common special needs, gained through coursework, volunteer experience, or personal interest.
