Job Description: Exciting Opportunity at MSK: MSK is seeking a Lead Research Specialist for the Organic Synthesis Core Facility. The new team member will work closely with colleagues to provide advanced imaging and image analysis to the MSKCC research community, including basic scientific and clinical researchers. Role Overview:Maintenance and operation of our high-end light microscopesConsulting with, training and assisting end-user researchers on optimal microscope operationTeaching microscopy courses to MSKCC audiencesProviding project-based advice for preparation of biological samples, including fixation, tissue sectioning, tissue clearing and expansion microscopyQuantitative image analysis, data processing and co-authoring scientific manuscripts with end usersEvaluating novel imaging and sample preparation techniques and sharing new technologies with the MSKCC research communityKey Qualifications:PhD in Biology, Biophysics or related fields with several years of work experience in high-end light microscopyExperience with quantitative image analysis software such as FIJI/ImageJ and ImarisStrong service- and team-orientation, and excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skillsPassion for learning and problem solvingStrong organizational skills, flexibility in working hours and ability to multi-taskCore Skills: Practical experience in single-molecule quantitative microscopy and optical tweezersKnowledge of scripting languages associated with image analysis such as MATLAB, Python Familiarity with cancer biologyAdditional Information:Schedule: Monday to Friday, onsiteLocation: 430 East 67thStreet, NYCReporting to: Laboratory Member and Director, Organic Synthesis Core FacilityPay Range: $90,700.00-$145,300.00 Helpful Links:MSK Compensation PhilosophyReview Our Greats Benefits Offerings Closing: MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
