Summary The Supervisor Rental (LRM) position is designed to be a support role for the Rental Manager. The incumbent will be assigned branch(es) where they will be responsible for the personnel and operations of the Rental counter(s). Ryder's most recently been named a "Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation (" by Women in Trucking, one of Fortune Magazine's "World's Most Admired Companies (," one of "America's Most Responsible Companies (" by Newsweek. /#INDexempt #FB #LI-LT Essential Functions RENTAL COUNTER(S) OPERATIONS: DAILY MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensure audit compliance, establish hours and days of operation, develop and maintain operating standards, maintain facility appearances, isolate and identify problem areas, analyze situations, develop strategies and action plans, assist with special equipment needs, follow up on administration exceptions and ensure safety compliance. CASH & CREDIT - Monitor cash and credit overruns and ensure proper cash handling procedures at rental counters. P & L MANAGEMENT - Manage trailer pool charges, monitor outside and ID charges, manage transfer expense, ensure proper license and permitting for vehicles, manage accident charges, review all reports and analyze performance and develop action plans to ensure maximum CBU and product line profitability. COORDINATION - Ensure proper leadership, communication between other functional areas of the CBU SALES/MARKETING - Identify market potential, develop and implement a marketing plan, establish marketing objectives, identify target customers and prospects, evaluate and develop a strategy against competition, monitor competition actions and activities. Establish both standards and special pricing, monitor deviations and exceptions. Manage the FIS/DPS and ensure inbound/outbound telemarketing standards are being met CUSTOMER SERVICE - Ensure operations are efficient in handling customer's ongoing needs. Handle special customer needs and requirements, handle customer complaints and/or disputes, identify customer needs and work to provide products and services to satisfy those needs, establish customer appreciation and/or thank you programs. ASSET MANAGEMENT - Monitor vehicle performance and utilization, minimize out of service status, and monitor vehicle activity to ensure proper utilization/revenue. Establish appearance standards for all vehicles, continuously evaluate and improve the appearance of the fleet to those standards while enforcing the Commercial Rental Guarantee PERSONNEL: STAFFING - Develop and maintain staffing plans, evaluate the mix between full-time vs. part-time balanced against customer service requirements MANAGE EMPLOYEES - Provide leadership, act as an appropriate role model, set objectives, establish job standards, assign and delegate tasks, communicate priorities and results, monitor job performance, give timely and appropriate feedback and follow all company guidelines regarding personnel management TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT - Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of personnel, put together individual action plans to train and develop people. Conduct on-going on the job training as well as other specific training programs and succession and/or corporate training responsibilities Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
