Apply today for our RN Employee Health opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsThis position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Under the supervision of the Manager of Employee Health and Workers' Compensation, plans, develops, implements and evaluates all activities and services relating to the Employee Health Service and Workers' Compensation Program to provide high quality and cost effective occupational health services to employees, volunteers, and physicians of TMCA/CMP. What you will do:Coordinates all clinical aspects of Employee Health services including assessment and treatment of employee injuries/illnesses, post-offer screening, occupational testing and surveillance programs and employee infection control. Formulates and coordinates implementation of medical case management for Workers' Compensation claims. Provides selective surveillance testing for volunteers and physicians. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. Provides triage for on-the-job injuries. Works cooperatively with other staff in the investigation, monitoring, tracking and follow-up of employee injuries and health and safety issues in the work environment. Must be detail oriented and a strong employee health resource. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. What qualifications you will need:Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. BLS- Healthcare provider from AHA or American Red Cross. Certification or eligibility as a certified occupational health nurse preferred. Valid Colorado Driver's license.Associates Degree/Diploma in nursing or other health related field required. Bachelor's degree in nursing or other health related field preferred, or equivalent experience in EH would take the place of a degree. Advanced degree (MSPH, MSNFive to seven years medical/surgical nursing required. Previous occupational health nursing and workers' compensation experience preferred. Experience in emergency department, orthopedic nursing, case management desirable.Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Advanced physical assessment and case management skills required. Knowledge of occupational health, safety, ergonomic and workers' compensation preferred. Effective written and oral communication skills. Teaching, counseling and oral presentation skills needed. Demonstrates flexibility to reprioritize activities due to constant interruptions. Must be able to work alone, without other medical resources immediately available. Knowledge of OSHA law, FMLA, and ADA preferred. Computer skills helpful.
