This position is in the Cabin Restaurant and Poolside Bistro within the Steamboat Grand Hotel. We are looking for folks who can mix a drink and enjoy connecting with guests.ESSENTIAL DUTIESResponsible for tending bar in a high-volume dining restaurant and poolside bistro, serving both bar patrons and wait staff; mix, pour and serve drinks to customers and/or wait staff serving tables; keep work area and bar organized and clean at all timesResponsible for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation. Perform cashier duties; set up cash drawer; take payment and return correct change; cash out at the end of the evening. Ensure that your bank is correct. Print out guest checks as needed for payment, close out and receive payments from guests to expedite serviceMust be a team player by assisting in daily operations of serving, cleaning, bussing, and answering phones which is dictated by business volume. Greet and seat customers, as requiredOpen bar facilities. Stock and set up bar for service. Perform shift opening tasks that may include: setting tables, opening doors, set up service station, make sure all menus are stocked for all shifts, etc. As requiredMaintain good customer relations; interact with customers in a pleasant but professional manner. Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times. Follow proper etiquette guidelines while interacting with the guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, efficient mannerAdhere to State Liquor Regulations, determine when customers should not be served alcoholAll job responsibilities need to be completed in a timely and efficient mannerHandle disturbances created by disorderly or intoxicated patrons, with the proper level of guest consideration, safety and know the right time to seek assistanceAlert manager of inventory shortages of liquor, food and supplies based on anticipated or actual guest volumeCompliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirementsPerform other tasks as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSTwo years of bartending experience, requiredPrevious cashiering experience requiredPrior experience with RTP system preferredMust have an excellent welcoming, guest service attitudeMust have a neat, clean appearance at all times, as per company standardsInteract and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC's Service Excellence standardsMust have Colorado approved Alcohol Server Training certificate or must attend a Colorado approved alcohol server training educational seminar within 30 days of employmentMust have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employmentThe base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees.
