Assistant Chief Engineer

Shift - 3-days rotating, 12-hours, 6 PM to 6 AMWhat this job involves - The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering operations and maintenance activities for assigned properties. This role is responsible for assisting in the management of building systems, preventive maintenance programs, and energy conservation initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.What is the day to day?Assist in managing day-to-day engineering operations and maintenance activitiesSupport the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programsHelp coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors for various building projectsContribute to energy management and sustainability initiativesAssist in budget preparation and cost control measuresEnsure compliance with safety regulations and building codesParticipate in emergency response and disaster recovery planningSupport the training and development of engineering team membersAssist in maintaining accurate records and documentation of all engineering activitiesDesired experience and technical skills - Required5+ years of experience in commercial building engineering or facilities managementStrong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systemsFamiliarity with building automation systems and energy management practicesExcellent problem-solving and leadership skillsStrong communication and interpersonal abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS softwareAble to work 12-hour rotating shifts (nights)PreferredRelevant engineering or facilities management certificationsOSHA safety certification#MMjobs
