MHS provides enrolled students with a multitude of opportunities, including numerous athletic options with access to state-of-the-art athletic & recreational facilities led by a committed staff. MHS is seeking a part-time Summer Lead Lifeguard to support the Aquatics & Fitness Manager. This role is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the K-12 aquatics and non-aquatics programs in the Community Recreation Center (CRC). Some of the responsibilities include: Assist with graduation requirement, staff meetings, staff training and record keeping. Assist with the staff supervision, day-to-day activities, performance evaluations, etc. (part-time staff between 13-30). Assist with facilitating lifeguard certifications courses; recertification and monthly in-service training for MHS lifeguards. Work schedule will vary depending on the needs of the Community Recreation Center programs and season's opening. This is an ancillary, summer job, anticipating about 20 hours per week. Must be available evenings and weekends From May 18th through September. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 years' experience working as a lifeguard. 1 year experience in supervision role in recreation, education, or aquatics related fields preferred. American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification required. Oxygen Administration preferred. Demonstrated strong administrative and organizational skills including the ability to multi-task in dynamic environments with competing priorities. Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students in a diverse work environment. Strong demonstrated skills with Microsoft applications. Must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are considered to be role models for students. Must be willing to actively engaged with MHS students.
