Overview: We're looking for an AVP of Business Development to join our team in support of our Virginia West territory which includes: Charlottesville, Roanoke, Harrisonburg, Wytheville and Lynchburg VA. You must live in or near this area (or be willing to relocate to this area) in order to be considered for this position. You will report directly to our VP of Business Development, you will be the face of the company in your assigned market. You will provide strong leadership to the sales team who are promoting our hospice services to the local healthcare communities. The Area Vice President of Business Development maintains the continuity of existing business; identifies and coordinates the development of new business opportunities in assigned territories; manages teams of business development staff, to include training and professional development; assists in development and implementation of sales strategies; and, initiates sales and marketing activity to meet or exceed goals. Job Responsibilities:Adheres to Organization's Policy and ProceduresAssists department in carrying out various programs and proceduresActs as a role model within and outside the CompanyPerforms duties as workload necessitatesMaintains a positive and respectful attitudeCommunicates regularly with supervisor about Department issuesDemonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workloadConsistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of positionParticipates in administrative staff meetings, committees, and special projectsRecommends new approaches to effect on-going continual improvements to policies, procedures, and documentationMaintains compliance with federal and state regulationsPerforms other related duties as required and assignedConsistently promotes the company's core values.Completes required Compliance annual training.Essential Functions of PositionDirects and coordinates company sales functions.Assists with developing and implementing sales selling methodology.Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results.Assists with development of sales budgets.Assists in research and development of strategies and plans to identify marketing opportunities, directs marketing and new project development.Provides support, direction, leadership and accountability for sales employees under supervisionDevelops business partnerships by making effective sales contacts and presentations, obtaining referrals and assuring quality service.Represents the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote company.Within scope of position, provides leadership and personal accountability to ensure compliance to corporate and regulatory policies, business growth, professional development and integrity.Provides leadership and support with clinical and operational counterparts to establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating standards.Meets or exceeds budgeted admissions, census, revenue and expense goals for area of responsibility.Participates in the recruitment, hiring and training of sales professionals to achieve budgeted growth goals for all offices under supervision.Coaches and trains sales professionals on effective sales strategies by providing effective sales techniques and strategies through meetings, phone calls and field travel.Promotes internal compliance to all human resources policies for recruitment, management, promotions and staff development.Participates in the coordination of all aspects of the patient's hospice care and in the hospice's quality assessment and performance improvement program.Qualifications:Familiarity with state and federal guidelines and regulationsWorking knowledge of budget development, financial profit/loss process, and human resources.Ability to work with confidential informationWell organized and confident to work independently, but is a team playerAbility to communicate clearly to remote field, mid-level, and executive staffExercises professional judgment and demonstrates good problem-resolution skillsVery comfortable working with multiple online and computer applicationsAbility to balance multiple tasks and manage conflicting prioritiesStrong follow-up skills About You: Bachelors' degree requiredFive years previous direct sales experience in healthcare service industry required2 to 4 years previous health care sales management required We Offer: Comprehensive Benefits Package: Health Insurance, 401k Plan, Tuition Reimbursement, PTOOpportunity to Participate In a Fleet ProgramCompetitive SalariesMileage ReimbursementProfessional Growth and Development Opportunities Legalese: This is a safety-sensitive positionEmployee must meet minimum requirements to be eligible for benefitsWhere applicable, employee must meet state specific requirementsWe are proud to be an EEO employerWe maintain a drug-free workplace Location: Gentiva Hospice
