Responds to and actively participates in emergency codes. Administers incentive spirometry and oxygen; and administers, reads and records pulse oximetry at direction of licensed professional staff. Suctions endotracheal or tracheostomy tube in order to obtain sterile specimens and perform pulmonary toileting; observes cardiac monitor during procedure and responds to arrhythmia's by ventilating mechanically or with ambo-bag; notifies licensed professional staff if problems arise.  Monitors cardiac console unit and observes EKG's; identifies, interprets and logs threatening arrhythmias; notifies licensed professional staff of arrhythmia's.
