HVAC Mechanical Journeyman (union)

We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest standard.Journeyman must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry.  You may be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill.Repair equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customers' expectations. Be proactive in refrigerant leak checking and repairs.Perform refrigeration/HVAC preventive maintenance checks in a timely manner as assigned."¯ Monitor and log refrigerant usage within assigned stores.Participate in company's "on call" after hours emergency call program. Assist with trouble shooting problems. Complete equipment inventories as assigned. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. What we look for:RequiredRequires Mechanical Journeyman status from the Local 486 hall.5+ years of residential / light commercial /commercial HVAC / mechanical troubleshooting experience.Valid driver's license, appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, boiler and steam operational & service knowledge.Good verbal and written communication skills.PreferredExperience with supermarket rack systems, display cases, self-contained cases, ice machines and walk-ins highly preferred. Journeyman qualified in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience. EPA certified for refrigerant handling class I & II, or universal. This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
