EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment including oil changes lubrications and filter replacements Perform minor repairs such as replacing head light bulbs, tail/blinker lights/marker lights tightening loose fittings, adjusting tire PSI, side mirrors. Use diagnostic equipment to identify check engine lights Collaborate with operations team to schedule maintenance and repairs needed Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work Be available to travel to a different BURNCO location each day if necessary Contribute to keeping areas in and around the plant clean and hazard free Escalate concerns to supervisor as necessary Other duties as assigned Pay Rate: $24 per hour KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES The primary areas of responsibility include: Understand and Foster Safety Culture Truck Maintenance & Shop Readiness Accurate Administrative Record Keeping REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and in a team environment Commitment to safety standards and protocols High school diploma and clean driving report Ability to use a computer to log services, work orders and operate diagnostic tools Ability to identify standard drive train items and truck chassis items (drive lines, yoke, carrier bearing, brake chambers, wheels, suspension and steering linkage, fluid levels, measure brakes and tire PSI) Ability to maintain proper attendance while working irregular hours, including Saturdays as scheduled Ability to work from other BURNCO plants on a regular basis Commitment to safety, customer service and teamwork EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Some mechanical background experience, at home repairs, commercial lube shop, tire shops or 1 year as a lube tech for a fleet. Ability to pass Pre-Employment Testing High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred TRAVEL REQUIREMENT 100% locally PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions. Employee constantly uses eye/hand coordination and near/far vision. Employee frequently stands, walks, sits, climbs, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, utilizes manual dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, color discernment and requires active hearing/listening. Employee is exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials. Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE required if performing special jobs. Posted 2/18/2025
