The 2nd Shift Van Driver at American Airlines - The Landing at Skyview 6 is responsible for driving the hotel's shuttle van, providing safe transportation for hotel guests. Additional destinations and driving tasks may be assigned by management as well as other duties when the van is not operating. RESPONSIBILITIES: Acquire all necessary arrival and departure information from the Front Desk. Coordinate pick-up, drop-off, and express check-in process with the Front Desk. Complete all pick-up and drop-off runs as assigned. Communicate check-in venue and hotel information to guests. Assist guests with luggage and baggage handling and familiarize them with the conference center. Assist in the storage of guest luggage. Pick-up or deliver luggage to guests' rooms. Solve guest-related problems within scope of authority. Assists guests with providing information about the surrounding area (i.e., restaurants, activities, events, etc.). Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the layout of the hotel and conference center along with knowledge of the services offered and operating hours of the different outlets in the hotel. Provide guests with transportation to local areas as requested. Answer and direct all incoming calls and in-house calls received on the main phone console promptly and efficiently, take messages as required and deliver them accordingly. Brings mail, packages, and messages to guests as needed. Clean and inspect hotel vehicles. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, pump gas, and obtain oil changes. Run hotel errands as instructed by management. Remains in the lobby ready to assist guests and co-workers at any time with any requests or concerns they may have when not driving. Complete vehicle mileage reports. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of one year of previous experience in similar position is preferred. Highly desired experience in a high-volume hotel, conference center or resort. Valid driver's license with a good record, MVR check periodically. High school education, GED, or equivalent experience required. Must be able to work 2nd shift, weekends and holidays. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Ability to move, bend, lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25-30 pounds. A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach. A Monday - Sunday schedule that allows availability to work weekdays, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel.
