Grow. with us.Who we're looking forToyota's Battery Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Engineering Manager.The primary responsibility of this role is to plan, manage, and develop the Battery Department activity to complete Production Preparation successfully to meet business targets as well as strengthen Battery PE overall through Hoshin activities and cross-functional activities.Reporting to Group Manager for TMNA Battery PE with onsite preference at TBMNC Location, the person in this role will support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Start of Production (SOP).What you'll be doing Plan, monitor, and countermeasure projects to conform to budget, schedule, manpower, and other KPI's. Preparing teams for Battery clean room activities, process installation management, trials and launch key safety activities for complex chemical processes involving hazardous materials.Participate in development and lead project activities for overall Production Engineering Hoshin objectives; continuous monitor and improve standardization (i.e. shikumi, Operation Procedure Plan, etc.) with kaizen while emphasizing the Toyota Way.Project Management & Reporting to External Stakeholders & Executive StaffLeadership of Department Staff & Resources to Achieve Project Goals & KPICreate Development Plans for Direct Reports that support skill development & career planning aspirations.Support the NAMC to pursue continuous improvement and cost competitive activitiesEngage and resolve technical and organizational issues including external vendors, suppliers, customers, all while achieving project KPI'sMid to long term planning responsibilities that could include investment about above $200M Scale.Will supervise & lead 4-5 manager direct reports and 30+ engineering indirect reportsAssessing the product knowledge needs of your team and proposing skill improvement/product knowledge training activity to build team product and process knowledge.Managing and confirming key risk assessment and NFPA adherence in equipment specification for complex chemical processes.What you bringMasters' degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with thesis project focus on some aspect of Battery study or similar transferrable skill productAutomotive Manufacturing experience in an engineering roleExperience in a management role with responsibility for direct reports for team members, engineers, technicians, machine builders and/or overseas support personnelExperience in an Automotive Battery Engineering role, including Line Support and Maintenance with a focus on project planning through start of productionExperience as an overall project lead for major model change or new model launch, including equipment installation, budget control, schedule management, countermeasure activity and collaboration with external departmentsTeam member development in complex chemical process skills and leadership examplesCompletion of Six Sigma or Toyota Production System (TPS) problem solving certificationAbility to work weekend, shutdown and holidays as needed, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%Added Bonus if you haveDocumentation of job way development, such as organizational process development and standardizationExperience working with shop layout efficiency improvement activities, utilizing Material and Information Flow (MFIC) or similarCompletion of OSHA 10Completion of OSHA 30Toyota production preparation, launch, line support, pilot support experienceCleanroom production preparation experienceTrial setting experience utilizing Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM)What we'll bringDuring your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
