Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our organization as the Vice President of Accounting, Corporate Controller. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role will oversee all aspects of the company's accounting, tax, and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive best practices in financial processes and controls to support the company's continued growth and success. Key Objectives: Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting and accounting processes. Enhance the company's internal control environment to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies. Develop and implement accounting strategies and policies aligned with the company's long-term business objectives and risk profile. Oversee financial system upgrades or implementations to improve operational efficiency. Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Achieve budgeted goals for the department, aligning with the Company's 1- and 3-year plan. In coordination with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards. Roles and Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Manage compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, including audits, tax filings, and internal controls (e.g., SOX compliance, if applicable). Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial consultants. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth, embracing our EOS culture. Oversee and support Divisional Controllers with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. Manage payroll team providing leadership, guidance, and ensuring compliance with all wage and hour regulations. Assess and optimize organizational structure to support scalability and efficiency. Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the CFO, FP&A and the extended leadership team to drive financial planning and analysis initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy. Analyze company costs and identify areas for operational efficiencies and cost savings. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations, reduce risk, and enhance accuracy. Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration, and purchase accounting. Operational Oversight: Prepare annual budget for the department, manage resource allocations, and compensation benchmarks across the department. Oversee and monitor month-end close procedures including journal entries and account reconciliation. Manage cash flow and treasury functions in partnership with the CFO and finance team. Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional processes. Partner with FP&A and Treasury to drive short term and long-term Net Working Capital Metrics. Key Business Partner and Steering Committee Member for 401K, Equity Plan, and ERP Consolidations. Minimum Qualifications: 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including public accounting and corporate controllership roles. In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting standards. Proven experience managing financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance in a private or public company environment. Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage cross-functional relationships effectively. Experience in a consumer goods or manufacturing environment preferred. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. MBA or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance preferred. Key Competencies: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Adept at balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution.
