Who We Are:The Spacecraft Development Department is a group of innovative engineers, program managers, and technicians developing unique spacecraft solutions for challenging space missions. We design and fabricate custom solutions to explore the boundaries of science or solve complex problems not yet delivered by industry using a variety of payloads.Objectives of this Role:Work in multidisciplinary project teams to design, analyze, and build cutting edge spacecraft to enable the next generation of spaceflight exploration.Work with spacecraft system development across the full program life cycle working under moderate to minimal supervision.Interface with customers and support design reviews to justify design decisions.Support R&D and promotional efforts to develop and implement new technologies; provide innovative technical solutions to design challenges.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:Work with mission design efforts and simulate various mission scenarios using space mission simulation software (e.g., STK).Work to develop mission specific requirements for space flight programs; develop technical performance metrics and budgets such as SWaP (size, weight & power), telecom link budgets, and propellant budgets.Coordinate technical investigations and troubleshooting for issue resolution.Assist in develop technical reports for mission status and materials for internal and external reviews.Support Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) and flight software development.Requirements:Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering.0-2 years: Spacecraft or space system design experience in an internship preferred; lead engineer on a subsystem in a school project also preferred.Knowledge of STK and Solis software preferred.Knowledge of MAX flight software and C++ preferred.Demonstrated technical excellence through a variety of challenging assignments and/or internships.A valid/clear driver's license is required.
