ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead with a safety mindset that ensure that every US Foods associate remains injury free, always. Champion safety procedures, processes and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture in the warehouse.Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. Discuss associate performance with Sr. Manager, Warehouse and create plans to address gaps.Create a cohesive organization by keeping lines of communication open and directing workforce to ensure efficient workflow.Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates within the semi-automation department. Drive associate engagement and retention and create a culture that embodies US Foods values.Participate in building high performance teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, in conjunction with Sr. Manager, Warehouse. Review performance, coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.Planning and staffing of semi-automation roles in all work zones to operate the system to maximize efficiency for the associates and the system.Monitor the flow of product into and out of the system looking for opportunities to improve the performance of the team and system.Communicate throughout the building with other leaders and associates to reduce the risks of bottlenecks and keep the building operating as efficiently as possible.Utilize reporting to monitor the progress and operation of the semi-automation and adjust appropriately if/as necessary.Communicate with third party associates to receive and provide system feedback.Maintain the cleanliness of the entire facility by providing input to others on cleanliness and leading by example.Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.Other duties as assigned by manager.Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. To review available benefits, please click here: Union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Depalletization Associates, Semi-Automation, Exception Handlers, Semi-Automation, Forklift Operators, Semi-Automation, Drivers, etc.)RELATIONSHIPSInternal: Warehouse leaders and co-workers, internal customers across departments (e.g. Sales, etc)External: 3rd party Automation VendorWORK ENVIRONMENTOnsite: Comfortable working in a multi-temperature environment ranging from -10 degrees to over 100 degrees required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse distribution required.Minimum of 1 year of experience overseeing a workforce required.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.Ability to interpret financial and operations data.Basic computer skills.Travel:10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.
